Allyn Magrino is a co-founder of Magrino, and has been a principal since its inception in 1992. As President and Chief Operating Officer, she brings more than 20 years of public relations experience, from media relations to developing strategic alliances for clients, and her international experience and French language skills serve the agency’s global client base well. Allyn works closely with Susan on the agency’s management, direction and fiscal growth, concentrating her efforts on client management and new business development across all of the agency’s divisions.
In addition to serving as President and COO, Allyn heads up the agency’s travel and real estate practice, which includes current and past clients such as: The Plaza Hotel, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Loews Regency Hotel, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Baccarat Hotels & Residences, The Ranch at Live Oak / Malibu, Rosewood Mayakoba, Castle Hill Inn in Newport, the Rittenhouse Hotel, Grace Bay Club. Other travel clients Allyn has overseen at the agency include One&Only Resorts, Sandy Lane, Rocco Forte Hotels, Twin Farms, the launch of the London NYC and London West Hollywood hotels, Canyon Ranch, Trianon Palace Versailles, the Golden Door, the Montalembert and the Plaza Athénée Paris.
Allyn’s creativity, versatility and ability to strategically change direction whenever necessary is a key element in the agency’s ability to accommodate the specific requirements of every one of our clients. Her understanding and knowledge of clients’ industries and the key players within them, from hospitality to fashion to food to luxury goods, affords her the ability to develop creative and effective strategies that get results for clients.
Allyn also leverages her vast network of contacts on clients’ behalf to develop creative strategic alliances that go beyond traditional public relations, including: connecting the Cove Atlantis and fashion company Vivre and its founder Eva Lorenzotti to develop a resort store on the property; introducing Dempsey & Carroll to fashion force Simon Doonan leading to a line of stationery, and creating an event concept for Louis XIII cognac in Paris in collaboration with the Webster Miami concept store.
Other clients Allyn has managed at the agency include Harper’s Bazaar, Hotel Lancaster and other Grace Leo Hotels, Ann Taylor, Laura Mercier Cosmetics and Skincare, Time Magazine’s 75th Anniversary at Radio City Music Hall, Club Med, Smart Money, The New York Times Magazine, Frédéric Fekkai, Wedgwood, Celine Dion Parfum, Ciroc Vodka, Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, and numerous book projects.
Prior to starting Magrino with her sister, Allyn was an account executive with the Clement-Petrocik Company, handling public relations for the French West Indies. She previously worked in corporate communications for Donald Trump and Robert Maxwell, and in the Paris office of the law firm Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in French with a concentration in art history from Trinity College in Connecticut (for which she also serves on the Board of Fellows and the Women’s Leadership Council), and spent a semester in Paris on the Columbia University program. Allyn is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and lives in New Canaan, CT, with her husband, Per Holmberg, and their two children.
